Letter to the Editor supporting a NO vote on Issue 1
I strongly urge my fellow Columbus residents to vote against Issue 1, which would change representation on Columbus City Council to include a mix of wards and at-large seats, on Aug. 2.
There would be potential gridlock at city hall that could make it difficult to get new developments approved. It is very possible that certain ward representatives will not vote for certain things in other parts of the city simply because something in their ward was voted down.
Columbus is the only big city in our entire region that the population continues to grow. Why mess with something that is working quite well?
